Homestead Miami- Last race of the season

Gordon starts the race 86 points under the leader at the Homestead Miami Speedway. At the begining of the race I was thinking maybe he can pull this off, his car was running well and everything looked as though he would have a great race. As the race continued it became clear that the only way he was going to win was if Jimmy Johnson had an awful day, and by mid race I was pretty sure that wasn't going to happen. Gordon falls short to Jimmy Johnson by 87 points and finishes the year second. That's OK though, there is always next year. I am sure that all of the drivers will enjoy their time off for the next couple of months and then it's off to Florida for the begining of the season at the Daytona 500.

I think with car racing the fun is for the driver. It bugs me that to watch a race I have to sit in front of the television hour after hour. But I would like to drive fast! I am amazed at the squad teams that put on the tires so fast.

Well, I can't say that I am upset that Gordon didn't win this year, but Jimmie isn't exactly my favorite either. I guess I shouldn't complain any way since I have only taken the time to watch one race this year. Maybe I'll have more time next year.
