Pit Crew Championship award

Jeff Gordon's team wins the Pit Crew Championship award in 2007. He and Mark Martin were tied in first with four wins a piece, the tiebreaker went to Gordon's team for having the highest finish in Nextel Cup driver points standing. The pit crew championship is based on how the pit crews do each week at the race, depending on that they earn points and who ever has the highest points and most wins at the end of the race season wins the award. In this case there was a tie, and in order to determine the winner they chose the team that was highest in the standings to be the winner.

Jennifer: That is wonderful that Jeff Gordon's pit crew won! I think watching the pit crews is one of the most interesting parts of watching NASCAR on tv. Those crews are amazing at how fast they do everything they need to do for their drivers.

It's amazing how fast they are changing a tire. I wish my mechanic
was that fast.
